Chino, Rose – Bowl with Rain Clouds (1970s)

This is a classic bowl by Rose Chino Garcia. She was a daughter of noted potter Marie Z. Chino. The bowl is thin-walled and painted with bee-weed and clay slips.  There are triangular cloud designs extending down from the rim.  There are fine-line and red cloud, and rain designs.  It is a creative use of classic fine-line imagery!   This large jar is very thin-walled and it was traditionally fired.  It is signed on the bottom, “Rose Chino”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
